Mother's Day 3-Pack with Morisoli Zinfandel
2020 Rosé - Our Rosé is made in the style of the wonderful wines of Tavel and Bandol. Harvested with the same chemistry as a sparkling wine, this rosé picked specifically to be rosé. The juice is allowed to ferment for six months in stainless steel, sur lie. The soft pink color invites you to delve into aromas of Red Delicious apple, Rainier cherry and a hint of savory spice. Mid palate richness with a clean finish. As good with smoked salmon as it is with feet in the pool.
2017 Morisoli Vineyard Zinfandel - We have been making Zinfandel from the Morisoli Vineyard since 1986 and have been the only producer working with these grapes since 1988. The old fieldblend vines, Rutherford Bench terroir, and traditional farming practices always create a truly distinctive Zinfandel. The 2017 Morisoli Zinfandel is a blockbuster! Amazing concentration with a subtle elegance that has been the hallmark of this wine since day one. Aromas of sweet briary fruit lead to flavors of sloe plums, raspberries, and red apples. The wine is seamless on the palate with an earthy texture that lets you know this is a true Rutherford wine. The vineyard is located between Niebaum and Manley Lanes, at the base of Mt. Saint John and in the heart of the Rutherford Bench. This area has a worldwide reputation for growing great Cabernet Sauvignon. The light, dusty, gravely soil here produces grapes with vibrant flavor and impeccable balance. The resulting wines express equal parts power and finesse. An Elyse wine from this vineyard will have great longevity but is also very drinkable when released. Each year, since 1986, we produce a Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel from this very special place in Napa Valley.
2018 Sonoma Chardonnay - A welcoming nose of toasted apple pie, with a hint of acacia flowers and whispers of saffron and fresh nectarine. The mouthfeel is rich throughout but easily gives way to refreshingly crisp acidity and a clean finish. The Chardonnay is sourced from two vineyards in Sonoma County – Simpatico in Bennett Valley and Smith in Dry Creek Valley. Both vineyards are located in unusually cool pockets of Sonoma and their unique microclimates make them very well suited to produce the type of Chardonnay we love – opulent yet elegant, somewhat steely, with bright fresh fruit and crisp acidity.
